W/W - Borders Lives On

Yes, Borders still lives on in Malaysia, the last of the four surviving overseas locations - Dubai, Oman, Malaysia and New Zealand.
Interestingly, did you know that the Borders in Berjaya Times Square, Malaysia once held the record for being the world's biggest Borders store at 60,000 square feet (5,600 m²); however, this has since changed with the closure of one level of the store. There are now 6 Borders outlets in Malaysia under a different ownership.

Although digital book are all the rage now, we Malaysians are still diehard book readers. Don't you just love spending hours and hours in bookstores and libraries, losing yourself in a haven of books, pulling them out of the shelves and loving the way they feel in your hands? Touching, smelling, reading the black blurb and leafing through the pages is a pleasure that can't be experienced digitally.
What about you? Are e-books for you?

Sleep-texting - Seriously?

image taken from http://www.telegraph.co.uk

I've just learnt that there is a disorder called sleep-texting! People with the rare condition send incoherent text messages while asleep, a real phenomenon like sleepwalking!
Sleep experts say they are seeing more and more cases where people send (often nonsensical) texts while in slumberland that they remember nothing of the morning after.
What's next - sleep-emailing, or sleep-facebooking?
The next time you see a salacious comment on your blog by me, excuse me for I was just sleep-blogging!

It's a morphed image of the two celebrities

I was watching "Eye of the Beholder" and did not realise that it was Ashley Judd and not Angelina Jolie who was starring in the movie until I saw her name rolling in the credits!! The resemblance is uncanny!!!

Don't you think Angelina Jolie looks like a young Ashley Judd?

Amazing Street Vendor Creates Caramel Dragon Lollipop

OMG! You really gotta watch this wow-worthy video. This has to be the coolest 'lollipop' I've ever seen.
With nothing more than just a wok of melted malt sugar and a ladle, this street vendor in China draws an incredibly detailed paper-thin dragon which he then scrapes out and mounts on a stick!

Notice the spinner with the 12 Chinese zodiac signs. The candy maker will create the animal where it lands.

W/W - Mother-in-law's Tongue

This weird plant is called Mother-in-law's tongue because of its sharp tips which are usually covered in egg shells, a common sight in many Malaysian gardens. I have often wondered about the significance of this practice but was told that it's merely for decorative purposes.
Interestingly, while googling for more info on this plant, I learned that there is also a pasta that shares the same amusing name - Lingue di Suocera which translates as Mother-in-law's tongue because of its long, twisted and sharp edges.
