Kringel

Kringel, an Estonian braided cinnamon bread that  looks like a wreath.

And you can see from the tutorial below by Anna Maria Ciolacu, it isn't hard to make.

It tastes just like a cinnamon roll, only softer and yummier!

W/W - Mother's Day Gift

My mother's day gift from Josh, my 16 year-old son. He bought these with the money he had saved from those red envelopes (ang-pow) he received during Chinese New Year.

Aren't these gorgeous??  Until the next time he tells me I'm the worst mom ever when those crazy teenage hormones act up again, I am awarding him favourite child status for now!!!  LOL!!!

Sushi Cats

These sushi cats are created by Japan-based company Tange & Nakimushi Peanuts. And if you are wondering why on earth those kitties are sushified, here's the explanation from their website.

What is “Neko-Sushi”?

Neko-Sushi is an extremely unusual life-form consisting of a cat on top of a portion of sushi rice.
Although several references have come down to us through history from various researchers and witnesses, their existence is still shrouded in mystery and actual sightings remain rare.
There are several academics who have devoted their lives to the study of these creatures. According to a number of these, Neko-Sushi make use of gaps in space to come to us from an alternate dimension. Beyond these “gaps” lies the world of the Neko-Sushi in which, it is recently understood, lies the true identity of the cats that dwell with us here in the human dimension.

W/W - Oreo

Yep, that kinda sums up what she does all day. Unlike a cat or dog, she doesn't respond nor come to you when you call out her name. And her face is so expressionless, she might as well be Kristen Stewart.
But her redeeming quality is her cuteness and  for that, we love her to death.

Bread Therapy

My friends think I'm crazy for devoting what they imagine to be hours of precious time to bake my own bread when you can get it at the store for a fraction of the dough. Sorry for the half-baked pun! It's hard to explain but kneading soft dough is wonderfully therapeutic. It's just like yoga in the kitchen! I enjoy those quiet moments standing at the counter - methodically stirring, folding, and mixing, allowing my mind to run free. Besides, there is nothing like a little elbow grease (a lot, actually) to work out those flabby arms! There is a great sense of euphoria and accomplishment in turning that gooey lump into just about anything you imagine it to be.

And you can always share pictures of your accomplishments on your blog if you're in knead of something to post about!
